Start Menu vs Classic Menu

The Start Menu choice in the Taskbar Start Menu
properties window does not exist. Classic is the only
option. Also, Lock taskbar is greyed and unaccessible.
How can I set the start Menu to the non-classic option?
 
Thanks for the reply. Nothing at the url seemed to
apply. For whatever reason, I can't switch out of the
Classic Start menu option. I have no other options to
select. Any other thoughts.

Thanks for your help. I used regedit to change the value
data of the value "NoSimpleStartMenu" and magically all
was fixed. Any thoughts on how that could have been
changed?

Glad I could help.
It was probably just a program you installed causing a glitch. They often
change stuff they shouldn't.
