Start Menu/Task Bar

I've lost my Start Menu/Task Bar

It isn't anywhere minimized on the desktop

Any ideas on what I need to do to recover it

I'm using XP Pro SP1
 
It is possible to drag the top of the Taskbar down so that
only the top 1/16 inch of it shows up. If you see a small
ribbon on the very bottom of your screen, just drag it
up . . .

If a drag doesm't work. place cursor on that thin strip, right-click, and be
sure "Lock the Taskbar" isn't marked. If it is, click on that to unlock,
then try dragging up.
