Win XP Pro:

Search function in start menu operates properly in
regular start, but points to two programs in "Classic
Start" and not Search.

Thank you

Hi there

Try reinstalling Windows XP Search

Open Explorer and go to the C:\Windows\Inf folder. Locate the
srchasst.inf file. Right click it and select Install.
You'll need your XP CD or the files from the I386 folder.
(This fix will require you to have your Win XP CD).

The Windows\Inf folder is a hidden folder. You can adjust
your Explorer Folder Options (View tab) to Show hidden
files and folders. You can also click Start, Run and enter
%SystemRoot%\Inf to open directly to the Inf folder

Wm,

If you are using the OE, download this REG file [attached]

Fixes Search "Files or Folders" shortcut in the "Classic" start menu

Or, manually edit the registry and check if:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindEx
tensions\Static\ShellSearch\0\SearchGUID

Default value is set to {169A0691-8DF9-11d1-A1C4-00C04FD75D13}

OP is using the Web Interface. They won't see the attachment.

I noticed that, Frank. If he wanted that attachment, he has to open OE.
