If I click on the Start Icon, or press the Start Key, I see in the upper left,
the word "Internet". It currently shows the Netscape logo and
"Netscape 7.0". I am now using 7.1, not 7.0. If I try to change this by
right ckicking on the start menu window, I get "Properties", then a "Customize
Start Menu" window. It has only 3 choices for Internet: IE, MSN & Netscape
7.0.

How can I change it to Netscape 7.1?
Where is the link (Containing the address of the target program)?

The reason I ask is that when I click on this item in the start menu, I get
Netsape 7.1, but for some reason, Java code does not work. It is enabled in
preferences, Help | about plugins shows the latest Java dlls, but they just
don't work. I also cannot open the Java console. They do work if I click on a
shortcut I made on the desktop, pointing to c:\Program
Files\netscape\netscape\netscp.exe.

Remove the "Plink" for e-mail address.

Um, but this is a Netscape issue, in its own rights. This very well could
be a common question asked. Have you tried their forums, etc?

This is a Netscape "version" issue, not an XP Start Menu issue. The default
listing is stored here, but not the version number:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet

The target path would be where Netscape installed it. For IE, it is listed
here:
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

Shouldn't Right clicking on Start Button > Properties > Customize > Show On
Start Menu offer the option for which version of web browser to use (or
should I say show on start menu)?

The rest of the question does sound like an netscape issue though...

Luck
