One of the follow Microsoft Corporation services in MSCONFIG utility: SNMP
Service, SNMP Trap Service, SSDP Discovery Service, & Windows Image
Acquisition; are causing my computer a problem. Every time I restart the
computer, I log on, and the start menu bar is completely frozen and has no
access including quick launch icons, tray icons, or the start button leading
to programs. It has no function because there is just an hourglass every
time I move the mouse cursor over the start menu, and it will never go away.
I fixed the problem by narrowing down every service in MSCONFIG, and
realized one of the above 4 services is causing the problem, and now I need
to know what service can cause that problem. I had the same exact issue on
my desktop PC, and my laptop. Please help. Thank you

Don't know about SNMP, but it is often advised to disable SSDP Discovery
Service. START|RUN Type "services.msc" (no quotes) <enter>

Double-click that item, then click the arrow to the right of the Start Up
box. Choose DISABLE, and click on OK. It can always be enabled later.

Disabling WIA may hamper operation of image devices. It's set to
AUTOMATIC here.
