my problem is that when i try to open any HTML sites
added in my favourite folder from the START MENU,
my FRONTPAGE EXPRESS opens instead and gives me an error
MSG. that says "UNABLE TO OPEN www.whatever.blah"

I dont use this client. so i want it to stop doing this.
PLEASE HELP me . how do i de-activate this.

It doesnt happen if i'm already in the I.E. and open
google.com(as an example) in the favourite bar menu.
Only when i use my favourites folder in START MENU

I'm using WIN.98

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Start | Run and type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

OK WELL i tried all that u told me to do.. BUT still i
cant get it work..
Now it tells me >> the object that
C:\windows\desk\google.url
pathway aint aviable or deleted.

I have not deleted anything. so i dont know what to do..
THIS only happens if i go thru START MENU > FAVOURITES.
Not if im already in I:E.

im using WIN.98 + I.E.6

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
