start dsl connection automatically

can you set windows xp to dial the dsl connection automatically?

can you monitor the actual throughput as with third party dialers used
on previous windows versions?

What kind of a DSL connection do you have? Most (but not all) are
always connected and no dialup is necessary or possible.

xp has to "dial" a dsl pppoe connection. if there was a router, then it
"dials" it for you and keeps it on. if yours is always on without a
router then it is set the way I need.
