I have a computer with XP Media Center that I have been using to record
television programs. When I am not using the computer, I usually put it in
Standby so that it can still record TV shows. The trouble is, even if I bump
my desk, the mouse senses it, and the computer comes out of Standby. Is there
any way to adjust what brings one in and out of Standby, or some other way to
avoid this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Thomas,
Start, Run, CMD
use this switch powercfg /devicedisablewake <device name>
For each device you want to disable

You can use >powercfg /devicequery wake_programmable to show the list of
device that can wake the system

See also powercfg /? for more information

Thanks,
