Hi there, Can anyone tell me how to stop Windows XP going off line while in
standby? Since I now have broadband and an always on connection I do not want
to leave everything on full power all day, but when I go to standby I am
disconnected. Simple instructions please - silver surfer!!

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
Click on the + next to Network Adapters, then right-click on your NIC
device, select Properties > Power Management and uncheck
"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power",
then click OK.
