Standby mode

When I put computer in standby mode either manually or
letting pre-set time elapse, cit does not go into mode.
The computer goes into standby mode for approx 2 seconds
and then goes right back into user mode. Any suggestions?
 
Just a thought, but it could be hardware connected to the computer (ex: a
mouse or keyboard) that is causing it to come out of standby...some of these
devices are very sensitive when it comes to motion, and thus would "wake up"
the comuter, or send it out of standby...if you are using a wireless mouse,
this is most likely the case...i'd try another mouse if you have one...if
that doesnt work, you can try working with your computers power managment
features by going to
Start, >Control Panel, >Power Options...Hope this helps
