What is the standby command for windows xp? Like to go to start>run> and
type in a command to put the computer to standby.

In Ryan <[email protected]> had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

As far as I know there isn't. No need for alarm...

Shutdown.exe:

Note the endorsement from Jim (or at least the thanks) which means that if
it's accurate and the likes (and it appears to be) that it's 100% safe and
100% effective else Aumha wouldn't be associated with it.

You may try this shutdown.exe utility
http://www.budja.com/shutdown/

From that page:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Shutdown.exe is a simple command line utility that can:
Log Off the current user
Shutdown (Turn Off) the computer
Restart the computer
Hibernate the computer (note that hibernation has to be enabled!)
Put the computer into Stand By (Sleep)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

From Torgeir Bakken:

The following command line tools supports suspend (sleep) as
well as hibernate:

PsShutdown

Wizmo

Budja shutdown:
