SSI/Champions of krynn on Window's xp.

So I'm trying to finally finish blasted games that I started playing,
well way too long ago. Life was so much easier with a 486... Now I am
running window's xp, trying to get one of the SSI games to work on it.
When I go into the faux windows xp dos command prompt, and attempt to
start the game, the screen simply flashes, and NEW command prompt
window opens up (at the exact place I was) and nothing happens.. The
install procedures worked from a dos command prompt, but not the .exe
files... Any ideas??

Hi Myles,

When a game is a DOS game, it could work using compatibility mode:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=292533 or by using the Multiboot
bootdisk from: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~lpcd/downloads.html
and always check at fileplanet.com to see if there's a patch available.

With DOSBOX you can emulate a DOS computer on your XP desktop:
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/information.php Or try MS Virtual PC:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/virtualpc/downloads/trial.asp
which allows you to install DOS or to run any operating system inside XP.
