I need to upgrade PPT in Office 2000 to SR-1. The rest of the componenents are already at SR-1. How do I proceed
Any help will be greatly appreciated

I strongly recommend that you update your full Office 2000 Suite to SP-3,
which includes 1 and 2. You can go to http://office.microsoft.com/home and
click on "check for Updates" and then find "check for Updates" again on the
next window and click on it. Allow it to search for recommended updates and
follow the dialog.

Sonia,

Thanks for your suggestion. I have the CD with the SP-3
update but when I try to install it fails because I am
told that PPT component is not a SR-1 level as the rest
are. What am I overlooking?

You're probably not overlooking anything, but I can't replicate your
situation, so I don't know how to advise you. Does the message tell you
what to do? Have you tried the "check for updates" route that I suggested?
It might sort things out for you. If not then I think I would recommend
that you uninstall Office 2000, reinstall Office 2000 including PowerPoint,
and then apply SP-3 to all.

Okay, now this is just too bizarre of a coincidence. I hit this while
visiting a friend in IL this weekend. I re-downloaded SP1 on his machine and
installed it. I then installed SP3. I don't know if it was supposed to work
that way, but it did.

On the other hand, Sonia's advice to uninstall and start from scratch might
be a cleaner way to do it. (Time was the only reason we didn't)
