Is it possible for excell to perform the square root of a
number? if so what is the formula?

No, that was actually excellent information. I recall several years ago
beating myself up trying to find the 12th root of 2! I finally tried
^(1/12) just for grins, and ... !! Boy, was I a guru for a short while!
