spyware problems...

a couple of weeks ago i removed the sasser worm, and ever since, my computer has been noticably slower and programs refuse to do key tasks - especially windows media player, music match jukebox, spybot, and mcafee virus scan. whenever i try to run these, it says that they're not responding and freezes until i end these programs. new viruses keep popping up that i get with adaware and stinger, but i'm still unable to write anything to cds or use most of these programs. when i run spybot, it identifies the viruses, then freezes when i try to remove them. any suggestions to circumvent this and remove viruses that are preventing me from using my anti-virus programs

Have you tried running spybot and macafee in safe mode? Always best to run
these tools here as minimum amount of process's are running, which means any
spyware or virus may not be active in that mode. Also run regedit and
navigate to Local machine - software-microsoft-windows-current version-run.
Check what values are there and make sure nothing suspicious is there.

If you are using antivirus softwares and spybot removal software, are you keeping the software upto date

Most antivirus softwares if kept upto date will be able to keep most virus out of the way
