Spyware or ???? can not remove

Hopefuly this should be an easy one answer i hope.

I keep getting a window that opens up some advertisment, it opens when the
internet connection is turned off and on. I am running Windows defender,
AVG7, Ad-aware. All say system is clean i must be over looking some thing.
Dont realy want to reinstall EX, anyway why i have your undivided attention
reinstalling XP i have two recovery disc & one recovery tools disc which i
made after pc was installed at home. XP was pre installed. Sorry i am
used to win98.

Hi Nugget,
We use webroot spysweeper, we have found that it finds a lot of spyware and
trojans others miss you can download it at www webroot.com.

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -

Include scanning with either Sysclean or Multi_AV, plus Ewido. Do all
prep/finishing work and follow instructions to do all scans in Safe
Mode.

When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the
specialty forums listed at the link above (not here, please).

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).

Maybe you just need to turn off the Messenger service.. Here's a post I
found on the subject:

"To disable the "Messenger Service" (not to be confused with Windows
Messenger or MSN Messenger), click Start, then Run, enter
"services.msc"and click OK. Scroll down to "Messenger", select it,
right-click and then choose Properties. Under startup type, choose
'Disabled' and then choose the 'Stop' button. After the service is
stopped, click OK.
Nothing in Windows or any real third-party applications should be
affected by this.

If it is coming through the Messenger service, the Firewall has been
compromised OR inoperative!!!!
