Spybot problems

I downloaded and installed Spybot fine. No problems. Got an icon on the
desktop.

When I click it on, I see a short flicker on the screen, but the program
does not come up.

Same thing when I go to Start, All Programs and try to start either of
the vbasic or advanced version.

Just a flicker on the screen.

Un-installing it and downloading it fresh, makes no difference. Same
flicker, yet program does install without problems.

I am using a very recent computer Intel 4 2.8Ghz,plenty of RAM and
WindowsXP Pro.

What is the matter?

Spybot is a very good program I use it myself.What you

are describing is a sign that spyware is already on your
system and is preventing spybot from opening.(some of the
more advanced programs can do this) Download ad-aware and
use them both. ad-aware has another download besides the
main program it is a cloaking program to fool any spyware
on your system download that as well update and run.

Since you are concerned about spyware this free program
will prevent many types from being installed in the first
place

Have checked with SpyBot on the problem?

Great advice. It is a recognized problem and the Spybot site had a small fix
for it and all is ok again and it found no problems after this. THANKS'
