Spreadsheet Does Not Load

When I access "New Office Document" or "Open Office
Document" through the Start Menu, the Excel spreadsheet
(Work area) does not load, all I see is the Title Bar,
Menu Bar, Tool Bar and Task Bar, the spreadsheet (Work
Area)is blank. This happens whether I open a new or
existing doc from the (start) menu.
Once the Excel program loads, I can then access with
success "New" or "Open" document through the Menu or Tool
Bar.
Does anyone understand why this happens?

Try this

Tools>Options>General uncheck "Ignore other Applications"
Exit Excel and try again

If this doesn't work try to re-register Excel

Close Excel first and
On the Windows Taskbar

1 ) Start>Run "excel.exe /unregserver"(no quotes)>OK.
(unregserver is not always needed)
2) Start>Run "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)>OK.
See the space between exe and /regserver

You might have to designate a full path to excel.exe.
In that case Start>Run "C:\yourpath\excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)>OK
