Like, I saw a presentation that involved a picture of 4 people who first where
all visible, than became shadowed and where individually lighted out by a
spotlight effect.

If anybody could help me out here, I would be really grateful

Kevin,

which PowerPoint version do you use? You could use animations and cover the
shadowed pictures with a semitransparent area and have the single one
appear at the same time.

Kind regards,
Ute

Hi Kevin,

This effect was probably achieved with PPT XP/2003 entrance, exit and
emphasis animations. If you have PowerPoint XP or 2003 you should be able to
experiment with the the animations to get the same effect.

Ute,

Could you explain in detail how I could apply your suggestion with the
animation. I`m using powerpoint 2000

It would be easier in PowerPoint 2002 or 2003 ... Put all images on the
slide, use a large rectangle (with white or grey semi-transparent fill) to
cover them, make it "appear" with animation settings. Put the picture you
want to highlight on top of the rectangle, let it appear with the next
mouseclick. Build a similar slide for each of your pictures.

Kind regards,
Ute

Well all of your reply's were very helpful, I know now that I need more
knowledge on animation tech in ppt, or upgrade my office suite
thanks
