spoolsv.exe error

Hallo Netzgemeinde, ich habe mit meinem Rechner, dh. mit dem Dienst
Druckerwarteschlange folgendes Problem:

Sobald Windows hoch fährt - noch vor der Anmeldemaske, wenn die
Dienste gestartet werden - kommt folgende Fehlermeldung:

spoolsv.exe - Fehler in der Anwendung
Die Anweisung in "0x00000000" verweist auf Speicher in "0x00000000".
Der Vorgang "read" konnte nicht auf dem Speicher durchgeführt werden.

Klicke ich OK sind meine Drucker verschwunden bzw. der Dienst
Druckerwarteschlange ist gestoppt.
Starte ich den Dienst neu und rufe die Druckereigenschaften eines
Druckers auf, kommt obige Fehlermeldung wieder und der Dienst ist
wieder gestoppt.

Ich habe keine neue Software bzw. kein neues Gerät installiert.
Meine Rechnerkonfiguration:
Windows 2000 Prof. SP4

Wo liegt das Problem?

I have a big problem with my PC i.e. with the printer queue - service.

When I start Windows - before the login-mask show up and the services
starts - the following error message come into view:

spoolsv.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "read".

If I click OK my printers disappeared resp. the printer queue-service
is stopped.
If I restart the service and I look at the properties of any printer
pop up the same error message and the service stopped.

I don't installed any new software and any new device.
My configuration:
Windows 2000 prof. SP 4

What's the problem?

maybe there is a print job crashing the service.. delete all the print jobs
from c:\WINNT\system32\spool\PRINTERS\
and then try to start the service

when these type of problems with printers occur the 1st thing i think of is
the version of the printer driver - not the software release but the OS
version. The drivers are stored in %WINNT%\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 ver
3 is for Win2k. Ver 2 will cause problems as they run in kernel mode instead
of user mode - will often restart the PC without any warning or blue screen
etc!. See this KB article
