spoolsv.exe: 100% CPU usage

My WXP machine is very slow: it turns out
that spoolsv.exe is occupying the CPU for 100 %.

If I end the task, the trouble is over, but after a
restart it comes back.

I do have a problem with the installation of a printer,
which is likely to be associated with this problem.

What type of printer? Where did the driver come from? XP or XP with SP1?
