spontaneous rebooting of PC using xp

I just reinstalled the entire xp program and still the pc
is spontaneously rebooting. Opened it up and cleaned it
up and still having problem....Can someone please advise
as to what the problem may be? Thanks, please respond at

Are you receiving any error message on the rebooting?
Have you scanned with antivirus/spyware detctors?
Do you have a firewall?
Have you done all the critical updates?
Could be a driver problem or conflict.
Any error logs in your event viewer?

I have scan my pc for virus. Yes I do have a firewall,
Yes I have done all the critical updates Not sure how to
check error logs in my event view...Thanks
 
To check for error message in event viewer, click on control panel , adminstrative tools, event viewer then double click application, see if any then double click system and see if any error messages. If there are no error messages your problem maybe your power supply going bad

I had problems like yours about a year and a half ago. How old is your memory? There is a memory diagnostic program that you can run to see if that is the problem. This is the link to get it http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp , you will have to save it to a floppy and run it after you restart your computer. Hope this can help. It took me about a year of reboots before I found this diagnostic program. It was a lifesaver.
 
Hello, under system in the event viewer, there are
several messages, one is a faultrep.dll file. The
DgrVeco service failed. Another is erro code 1000007f,
parameter1 00000008, parameter2 80042000, parameter3
00000000, parameter4 00000000. also netevent.dll. In the
Service control Manager. Also the IPSEC Services driver
service failed to start a device attached to the system
is not functioning. The DNS Client service also failed
to start. Some of these were while I was in safe mode and
the rest are not. I havent added any new
hardware...could that be the power supply?? Please help

however, the memory tests all passed, now what can I
do??? Please help...Thanks
