Steve

I accidentally added a misspelled word to the spelling dictionary in
Word 2000. So I go to Toolos > Options > Spelling > Dictionaries >
Custom.dic > Edit. The word is listed there, tried deleting it, but
every time I open Custom.dic, it's back. How do I permanently delete
it? Thanks!

When you are prompted to save Normal.dot, are you answering yes? Although
Custom.dic is not Normal.dot (obviously), I think this prompt also applies
to saving other settings. And of course make sure you're pressing OK to
close the Custom.dic and Options dialogs.

Custom.dic is merely a text file containing a list of Words. Close Word and
open custom.dic for editing in notepad.

Just tried it again, same as before, now it seems to have worked. Oh
well, thanks for the input!
