Is the spell checker actually enabled? Click Tools on the main Windows Mail
toolbar then, from the drop down menu, select Options. In the options window
click the Spelling tab. When the spelling tab window opens make sure there
is a tick in the 'always check spelling before sending' option.

My 2 cents. I had the same message. In Mial >Options> Spelling tab. If it's
set to English reset it to English. It worked for me.

Maybe this has been answered someplace in this forum? My spell check is
"locked" in French! I have no English option to use.
This is something that happened after upgrading to IE7....
Any ideas on how to get English back? I tried downloading the registry/merge
trick to no avail. My wife is a lousy speller and needs it...LOL

I am sorry. I posted to the wrong forum. Turns out with Office 2007 is
installed somehow it wipes out the language and places French as the only
choice. Reinstalled Office XP tools and all is well.....
Thanks for your response..

Strange! I have Office 2007 installed, and it did not affect the
language choice in Windows Mail.
