Hello From Texas,

I just got a PC with windows xp. It has outlook 7.0
installed. My problem is that spell check will not work.
The only info I have found on the problem is that I need
some other spell check like Microsoft word installed.
Well I had works installed with the pc, including word
but I guess there is something else I need to do t get
outlook and word connected? I hope someone knows the
answer.

Thanks Mike

There is no such thing as Outlook 7, nor is there Outlook Express 7, so I'm
going to assume you meant Outlook Express 6 (don't call Outlook Express
Outlook, as they are *totally* different).

Are you *sure* you have Word with your Works, and aren't confusing the Works
word processor for Word? Word is only included with the Works Suite, *not*
with vanilla Works (which cannot be used for spell checking).

Please define "will not work". I cannot see your computer, so I cannot
possibly ascertain what you mean by that. What does it say on your Works
disc(s)? If you have the latest version of vanilla Works, then they will be
marked Works 7.0. If, however, you have the Works Suite (which includes
Word) then they will be marked Works Suite 2003.

With you referring to 'Outlook 7.0', I reckon you have vanilla Works, which
cannot be used for spellchecking in Outlook Express.

Is that a typo? There is no such product as Outlook 7.0. Do you mean Outlook Express? and Outlook Express 6.0?

If Word is installed, try this: Search for the file csapi3t1.dll, then copy it to these folders:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\PROOF
C:\Program Files\Outlook Express
