Spell Check not offering suggestions for changes

I am using Word XP with 2000 operating system. My spell check worked fine until a few days ago when suggestions for misspelled words stopped appearing in the suggestion box. Misspelled words are highlighted with the red, wavy line. Any suggestions as to what may have happened?
 
Do you have "Always suggest corrections" checked on the Spelling & Grammar
tab of Tools | Options?

I found the error...the check had been removed from the "always give suggestions" box.
