Specs on my drive are WDC AC313600D (I think). Is there a utility that will
indicate the drive speed?

It will probably give you a lot more information than you were looking
for but try HD Tach from

Good luck

I use and recommend, DiskSpeed32 - a simple benchmark utility that
will return Access time, Burst and sustained throughput.

If you examine the Advanced (TAB) of the controller in Device Mgr,
it should show you it's operation mode ( UDMA __ ). But drive vendors
usually provide PDF manuals/technical specs on all their products.
( Even the quite old ones ).
I'd check at Western Digital's website for specifics on your model.
