Speed in typing

I am a passionate internet browser and have been communicating on e mails with friends & relatives. However I do not have proficiency in typing using all my fingers as a trained typist would do. I am eager to know & use any programme / software tutorial which can help me learn and practise speedy typing with all my own fingers.
If they are available online & free it would be preferable.
Can any friend help ?
