Specific users can't access FTP via IE

When two specific users log into my IIS 5.0 FTP server (W2K w/ all WIndows Updates applied) using IE as a client, IE's status bar shows the user as "anonymous", and no files / directories are listed.

If the same users log in from the command line, everything works as expected.

All other users can use IE and command line successfully.

Has anybody run across this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
David

What exactly is the issue? Are the people not supposed to be logging in
anonymously? Is that what your question is about? The user can right click
in the IE body and choose Log in as... Perhaps the users created a "network
place" and selected the anonymous login option. Check "my network places"
for these entries.

In internet options, there is an enable folder view for ftp sites under the
advanced tab you might want to check out.

Thanks for the replies, but it's not a "network places" or IE options issue

When user A logs in to the FTP server using IE6, he sees his user name in the status bar and sees all the files and folder. When user B logs in to the exact same instance of IE6, he sees "anonymous" as his user name and no files or folders

Any other ideas, anybody

Thanks
David

make sure that thier browsers are configured to show FTP folder views

Tools>Internet Options>Advanced> Enable folder view for FTP sites

or something to that effect...

Thanks for the reply, but it's definitely a property of the FTP server, not the browser. I know this because when I log in as different users in the same browser session, I get different behaviors.

Nonetheless, I checked to make sure that "Enable folder view" was turned on, and it was.
