Speakers won't work

I recently upgraded to Microsoft xp from Windows ME and
no longer have sound when using my computer. I cannot
play music or hear any computer sounds. My speakers are
all hooked up and on. It shows that the songs are playing
on Medai Player 10 but no sound.
Can you give me some advise what to do.

Go to the manufacturers website of your soundcard and download the
drivers for XP, they are free.

There is a Sound Troubleshooter available from within the Help &Support
system. It's possible the wrong audio devices are selected, or you have
them muted.
