My speakers don't produce any sound. I noticed this a little while ago, and still haven't found out what's wrong. After trying two different sets of speakers on an old computer, and hearing them work perfectly, and trying both on this computer, and hearing absolutely nothing, I've ruled out the posibility that they're broken. I've checked everything under 'volume control' and 'sounds and audio devices' but everything there is telling me my speakers should be working fine.

I don't know what to do, and would greatly appreciate some help.

"Where did my sounds go?"

Thanks, but none of that seemed to help me out

It's not just system sounds or start up sounds. I can't listen to music, here a messanger noticifcation, or anything. I'm stuck.

Does the device manager show a sound card installed? You might try removing
it if its there, then letting XP find it and reinstall.
