speaker problems

I went to download a game on my computer with windows XP and after the game was downloaded, the speakers started making a high pitched squeeling type noise and will not stop. Could some one help me figure out how to fix this problem
 
Be more specific. Is the noise coming during the use of this game? Is this
noise always there, before and after using the game? Is the noise there
after you re-boot?
Some noises can also come from the modem speaker. Motherboards can generate
speaker noise if there is a problem with the motherboard such as overheating
which can be caused by memory/processor intensive games.
