Today I installed SPAMfighter -- I'm using Windows Mail with Vista, and
have Comcast -- and today I have had all kinds of troubles -- couldn't send
anything, they stayed in Outbox but when I quit and started the Windows Mail
it works for a while, but then I've been getting the following all day:

An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: POP3, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800C0148

I have disabled McAfee email scanning.

Would appreciate any help. Thank you.
John

Disabling McAfee is seldom (if ever) enough, to eliminate it, you need to
uninstall it, use McAfee's debris removal tool to get rid of the crud the
uninstaller leaves behind, then do a custom re-install without any email
scanning features. Email scanning is redundant, it does nothing but create
problems, and your system is still fully protected without it, provided the
resident file system scanner is kept up to date. Note that neither McAfee
nor Norton are compatible with Vista in general and NO AntiVirus email
scanner is compatible with Vista SP1. Also keep in mind that SPAMfighter is
yet another email scanner; if your problems appeared when you installed it,
it may be at fault also.
