Hi all,

I am using Outlook Express 6. If I should be posting in another ng,
please tell me
which one.

I am always getting spam which I delete. About two weeks ago I started
getting spam
with subject lines such as "[SPAM]Buy a Rolex watch" or "[SPAM]I have a
mortgage for you",
etc. The point being that the text "[SPAM]" was being added to the
subject line. I figured
that it was the senders that were doing that, but today I got a personal
email from a family
member that also had this prefix.

What's up? Who or what is adding this prefix and how can I stop it from
doing it to my
legitmate emails? ANy ideas are welcomed and aprreciated.

Thank you
Saga

Either you run anti-SPAM software that is adding this, your ISP is doing so,
or the senders are. You decide. If the first, turn it off. If the last
(not likely), have them turn it off. If the middle, call your ISP.

Thank you for your replay and link to correct ng.

I'll elimate the third option, since I know for a fact that my relative
did not put this in the subject line.

My ISP? Hmmm.. interesting. I'll find out.

I am not aware of any antiSPAM running on my PC, but then
again, I just installed SP2 for XP, so anything is possible. Thanks
again, much appreciated :-)

Except anti-spam software. XP SP2 doesn't contain anything like that.
