I just upgraded to Office 2003, mostly to get the new
spam filter in Outlook. I use an IMAP service. IF I
happen to be connected at the time a junk mail comes
through - no problem - it detects it. However, if I am
not connected, and connect, most mail in the IMPAP is
not "new" (i.e., not bolded). Is there a way to run the
spam filter on a whole folder at a time? Thanks...Gary

The spam filter in Outlook 2003 is optimized for folks who run Outlook in
cached Exchange mode. Since I do not use IMAP, I do not know if it will
have the same effects on an IMAP account as with cached Exchange users.

For the spam filter to work, the entire message needs to be downloaded. I
don't have a problem with it working - as soon as the message is downloaded
it runs on them. I'm not sure I understand the problem about bolding - are
you reading them using another computer as well?

The filter can't be run 'offline' i.e., manually at anytime.

Milly - thanks. I think I will contact MS, as I don't
know about these set up issues. Gary
