I loaded SP3 through MS updates and now I am getting a message that says "
Windows cannot connect you to the network" Everything seems to be working
fine and I can connect to the internet as well as the server and other
places on my network but the toolbar on the bottom has the network connection
icon with a yellow excalamtion point on it. When I go to the icon it says
"Local Area Connection Speed 100 Mbps Authentication failed" any idea
on how to resolve this? Asking it to repair itself does not help.

To KbTag, What NIC card do your use? Have you checked with the NIC card vendor for a driver
update?
A lot of the wireless NIC cards are having problems with their monitoring software due to conflicts
with a new "dll" update included in SP3. I am not aware on any problems with wired NIC cards, but
the vendor may be. With the wireless NIC cards, turning off the monitoring software (use msconfig
or the software explorer tool in Windows Defender) removes the error message and the card connection
continues to work.

Thanks for your response. I have checked and they do not have either an
update or a report of others having the same issue with this card. I did
spend the better part of a day working with the folks at MS and the end
result was I had to go to the network connection properties for Local Area
Connection and turn off the authentication.
As I mentioned in the original note everything seems to be working, it was
just reporting an error. They could not explain why authentication will not
work.
