SP2 & Windows Installer 3.0?

How do I troubleshoot this error. Fresh install of Xp
Pro and SP2. This is just one of many other conflicts
and problems. Ready to pull my hair out.

Had the same problem and the same error code i the log. The "windows
installer" seemd to stop responding but when i just waited suddenly the
software installed (waited 15-20 min.)
