Hi,

If I install SP2 on my XP Pro laptop, will I be able to un-install it if it
doesn't work as it should? I know there is an option for this in SP1 and
SP1a, I just wanted to double check SP2. Also, apart from the Network
Deploy package, is there anywhere else I can download the SP from on MS'
website? They keep saying they will make a link to a single system download
in late August, but it is late August now, and as far as I'm concerned,
there isn't one! I would prefer to do it this way so I can control it every
step of the way instead of pulling it down the line using Windows/Automatic
Update.

Thanks,

Karl.

Yes you'll be able to unistall sp2.
Right now it's either the network install or wait for windows update or
cd's.

Hi Karl

There should be an option in Add/Remove Programs to uninstall SP2, but you
will have to enable 'Show Updates' to see it.

The SP2 file can be downloaded from the following link. I don't know of any
other MS page that it can be downloaded from:

The IT version is a bigger download, it's the full sp2 install package.
Windows update will only download the sp2 stuff you don't already have or
still need, so its a smaller download. Other than that they are both exactly
the same.
