SP2 took away my internet connection

Every since I downloaded SP2 on my laptop, I cannot
connect to the internet. I have had it worked on twice
and still no internet. went to my connections and clicked
on repair. it says "failed renewing IP address" Contact
your network administrator or ISP. I called the company
that made my router and they told me to re-enter my ISP.
it won't take it. Any suggestions??????????????

Do you have internet security on your laptop? I have

had a problem on a new computer with this option
preventing me from accessing the internet. I had to
disable the internet security until I can figure out what
settings I'm missing.
