Is there any way to slipstream SP2 into XP source on a Win2K machine? Every
time I try, update.exe has a fatal error. And as far as I remember, I used
to be able to do it with previous service packs. I could be wrong. Any help
is appreciated.

Thanks

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

Hello,
I am guessing on the problem somewhat since the error message wasn't posted.
There is a setupapi.dll located in the %SP2InstallRoot%\i386\update folder.
Try renaming that file first or replace it with the one from your Windows
2000 machine
Update.exe uses that setupapi.dll file which doesn't work under Windows
2000. Using the setupapi.dll that ships with Windows 2000 should allow
this to work properly.
Thanks,

Thank you very much for this. I'm at work right now, so I'll have to try
that when I get home. It just seems really inefficient to have to install XP

Just wanted to follow up on the issue. I tried it with the setupapi.dll from
Windows 2000 and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the help, I really
appreciate it.
