SP2 Running AVG

I helped my friend and we updated their PC to XP SP2. He did not have any
anti-virus software on his PC. I down loaded and installed AVG free
anti-virus software. The problem we are having is if you select AVG from the
task bar the AVG screen comes up but the arrow that controls what is hidden
or not disappears. The only way I can get the arron back is to go properites
from the start menu and force all running items to always hide then it comes
back then I set back to default.
Anyone have this problem?

Thanks
Rick

I don't think this is the fault of AVG. This seems to a bug in XP where the
arrow or "chevron" disappears now and then on some systems, only to
mysteriously return later on its own - or perhaps be coaxed back to
existence by using a method like you suggest. I have found the best
workaround is to choose at least one icon to remain hidden at all times. If
you're like most of us, you have quite a number to choose from.

you say when you run AVG the little arrow disappears.
what happens when you exit AVG, does the arrow stay gone
also you mention your list goes 1/3 way up the screen, maybe you have a few too many items in the list.
