Hello all,

When i run Windows Update - SP2 is not showing up as an available critical
update... i noticed that another PC in the network, with Automatic Updates
enabled - installed SP2 no problem... so why can't i access it via Win
Update?
(and yes, i am 100% certain that i am still running SP1)

And to any Windows EXPERTS out there - i have a very large filesystem
problem that i have yet to find someone with any idea on what could of caused
it and how to go about solving it... please follow this url for a

From what I hear, Automatic Updates are due today but it is not going to be
posted on Windows Update for a couple of days.

"The automatic delivery to Windows XP Professional Edition has been pushed
back until next week to give business users more time to prepare, according
to an e-mail Microsoft sent to enterprise users. The service pack should be
available on Microsoft's Windows Update Web site for self-installation later
this month"

Do you have a virus protection program? It may be a virus.

Cheers,

Cliff

Yes sir - I am 100% certain that my virus protection is complete and up to
date.

This happened on a freshly installed copy of windows XP - on a brand new
drive - with data that has been checked and scanned multiple times ... so I
can almost guarantee that it was not a virus that caused it...

it's a system-level problem - caused by what windows thought it was
"correcting" misplaced data.... which is the most ironic part of it - what
windows thought it was fixing, it was actually doing the opposite....

What I’m really looking for is some type of rollback, using logs of what
files we're altered and how...
