Hi all,
i have a freshly installed full release (NO evaluation
copy) of Embedded Studio SP1.

The database engine is installed locally.

German language support is imported.

Nothing else was changed (no project or anything else).

I have downloaded the "Windows_XP_Embedded_SP2E.exe" from
http://www.msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/usewinemb/xp/tools/lang/default.aspx?print=true

When trying to install this SP2 this message occurs:

"Setup has detected that your current SA password is set
blank. Please use sp_password to set a strong SA password
and restart setup or set BLANKSAPWD = 1 to ignore this
vulnerability. Refer to readme for more details. Setup will
now exit."

- What is "SA password" ?
- Where can i find the tool "sp_password" ?
- Where do i have to set "BLANKSAPWD = 1" ?
- Where can i find the "readme" ?

Klaus,

This is a "known" issue with SP2 install.

The reason/wordarounds so far were:
- You are trying to install MSDE when you already have MSDE or SQL Server installed. Then you don't need to install the database
server again.

or

- Edit setup.ini in sqlmsde folder of SP2 install to add BLANKSAPWD=1 under [Options].
