SP2 install - how long should it take?

Hi,

I have a Dell 8250, Pentium 2.4, 512 memory, 2 big disks with plenty of free
space. I went through the checklist - spyware, viruses, updated my BIOS, etc.

When I try to install SP2 the progress bar gets to 3 bars and then just sits
there. I let it go for 8 hours once. Eventually I give up and cancel. I've
tried it multiple times.

Any suggestions?

Installing from CD/full download or Express from Windows Update web page?
 
I'm on 600 kHz broadband with a 2.6 GHz pc 512 MB memory. SP2 took about an
hour to download from Microsoft's site and it installed in about 10 minutes
including reboot.

That was with my AV and Firewall both on during the download, but both
turned off for the install.

Have you tried installing a different copy of SP2 from one of the free discs
on the PC Magazines, see if you get the same thing?
