SP2 Firewall slows down my 3rd-party downloads?

I'm not 100% sure that is my problem, but ever since I installed SP2, my
downloads with BitTorrent are down to a crawl. I verified the settings of my
BT software and I'm certain it's not the problem. So either every source I
found so far is excruciatingly slow, or SP2 installed something that limits
my download speed. Obviously I deducted it was the firewall, as it directly
interacts with my connection, but it could as well be any other part of SP2,
or maybe it's not the problem at all, I don't know.

I'm no newbie when it comes to computers, but I'm still far from being a
full-fledged technician. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I have not had any problems with the SP2 firewall interfeering with programs
such as BT, but try Start menu -> Control Panel -> Security Center -> Windows
Firewall -> Exceptions -> Add Program -> Select BT. My main problem is
external routers and such blocking the ports required by BT, which you should
be able to find under preferences or options, which ever BT uses.

it says in bit torrent that some ports must be open.the firewall closes almost
all ports.u have to open ports for bit torrent.at the firewall general tab
uncheck
no exceptions next tab, click add a port .bit torrent says it must have at
lest 1
port.better if u give it many.something on bit torrent gives
insrutions.maybe help
file..can't remeber think its something like port 688 better 688-800 or
something.make sure the boxs in front are checked when u use bit.unchecked
when ur not useing bit.

Well, I tried it, and although I didn't notice any significant increase, it
did slightly increase. Maybe it's something else, or it was part of the
problem, or maybe it's just the source that's slow.

In any case, thanks for your help :)
