Hi, after installing sp2 the memory usage increased significantly, from
70-80MB free to 40MB free. The biggest hog seems to be IE. Does anybody know
if this is normal? If yes, is there a way to alleviate this?

P.S. MS should increase memory requirement of XP with SP2.

Thanks,
Vincent

These are disk storage tools. I'm talking about RAM usage according to
taskmgr. Does these tools help reduce RAM usage?

How much RAM do you have?

128 MB of RAM is recommended, although that is a lowball number.

You are *not* going to reduce RAM usage. Windows will use as much as it
needs. That's why you have the RAM in the first place.

256M. IE now uses about > 20MB more than before sp2. svchost also uses more
but not as significant.
