I'm sorry Carey but I have to disagree with you there; if people are having no troubles and then they download SP2 and then they have troubles I'd have to lean toward it being SP2. I fix computers in my spare time and I for one am not computer illiterate and already with just turning on the automatic updates for me; I have had problems. You can not honestly say that all these people who are having problems are just doing something wrong and it's them and not the sp2. Trust me I've dealt with pc illiterate people with my work but I don't think it's that hard for people to push "next" "yes" and etc. to download or install this sp2. I think that for the most part these people who are having troubles with sp2 are legimate problems that Microsoft needs to be aware of. I have cable internet and a very good pc and I'm a nut at keeping it cleaned up and well taken care of: And I had the windows icon sitting in my taskbar for almost 2 days saying "downloading updates 0%" and many many others across this board are having the same problems. Any troubleshooter will tell you: Look back on what you changed, installed, etc. on your computer "before" you got the error/problems. And if these people have no problems prior to downloading sp2 and now they are having problems then I'd lean toward the sp2. Maybe it's not compatiable with their pc or maybe there's software on their pc which isn't compatiable with sp2 I don't know..that's for Microsoft to figure out. I for one love Windows XP Home Edition...and right now I'm almost afraid to even try turning automatic updates again to get it. You've gotta give these people a little more credit.

SP2 is considered a "Critical Update" and updates over
5 million lines of code in Windows XP. You'll experience
stronger security and a bit more performance by installing SP2.
If you are relying on some negative information about SP2
found in newsgroups, remember that only folks with issues
tend to post and many issues are not even related to SP2.
