I would like to make a custom install for XP SP2 and was
wondering if that's possible. I downloaded it but it's
just an exe and not a msi file, so I wasn't sure. I'm
guessing this isn't possible, but worth the time to ask.

Thanks!

What exactly do you mean by "Custom Install"? If you want to integrate XP
SP2 into your OS install so that you don't have to do it seperately, look
around for guides to "Slipstreaming".

If you mean a custom install in the same way that you can install some
applications and choose what bits of the app you want to install then I'm
afraid Service Packs don't work like that - the service pack installer will
look at what is running on your machine and do a 'custom install' of its own
based on what parts of your system need to be updated.
