SP2 blank screen in windows.........

Installed SP2 today and as it rebooted I noticed things were looking dodgy.

First it displayed the boot screen very small in the middle of the screen,
after a couple of minutes the new security centre stuff came up at proper
size in the middle of the screen but with nothing behind it.

I closed it and was left with a blank screen and a cursor. Rebooted and
still get the same thing. Luckily, I had another user account on the
machine, which I can log on to ok, so I am using that but I would still like
to get in to the other account. ctrl-alt-del brings up the task manager but
there is nothing else on the screen.

on Task Manager click on New task and enter: explorer

What happens?
