Hi Everyone,

de-installed and re-installed ppviewer.exe. Keeps on saying to associate in
control panel|filetypes. I check that, and it is associated. Tried
un-associate then re-associate and still no joy.
Any comments , suggestions please?

Thank-you,
ron

Hi Dixionian69,

Advanced just says use Powerpoint Viewer to open, say yes and still no work.
I was able to save the file from a email and open the viewer and browse to
it and it worked then.

Ron

I have show, print, and new.
no open.

For Show, I have:
S&how
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" /s "%1"
select/check DDE

For Print, I have:
&Print
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" /p "%1"
select/check DDE

For New, I have:
&New
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" /n "%1"
select/check DDE

My default is SHOW.

Hey Ramesh,

That worked. Had 3 keys in the relevant registry, deleted the "show" one.
That left a open and print keys. The miniprogram had no feed back but the
prog may have been why there was a open key in the registry. i restarted the
comp, associated the file type and zaoee, working.

Much Thanks,
ron

I changed the registry to let a neighbour open Powerpoint files directly from
OE using the free ppviewer but he has since done a Dell Restore. That method
is not mentioned on your ppsopen webpage, can you remind me of the registry
change needed in XP Home please ?

At last I got a chance to make those changes to my friend's PC and I am
pleased to say that Powerpoint files are now viewable from OE.

Many thanks Ramesh.
